PFA arrests two major ringleaders of fake milk network

LAHORE: An enforcement team of the Punjab Food Authority, in an intelligence-based operation, has arrested two key ringleaders involved in running a fake milk network. Rauf Bhatti was apprehended from Chakwal while Maqsood Bhatti was arrested from Rawalpindi. Punjab Food Authority Director General Muhammad Asim Javed said all networks of Maqsood Bhatti, Rauf Bhatti and Dr. Khalid, involved in the preparation and supply of fake milk, have been completely dismantled. He said Maqsood Bhatti was wanted in six cases while Rauf Bhatti was wanted in eight cases registered in different districts for a long time. He said the accused were producing over 200,000 litres of fake milk daily and supplying it across Punjab. He stated that despite being expelled from Punjab, the accused attempted to establish units in other provinces and the federal territory and their illegal activities continued, posing a serious challenge to the writ of the state. He stated that due to effective reconnaissance and intelligence based operations, all units operated by the accused were sealed. He said all hideouts of Rauf Bhatti and Maqsood Bhatti in Punjab have been shut down completely. The DG PFA said cases against the accused are registered in Faisalabad, Chakwal, Vehari, Bahawalnagar and Rawalpindi.
