Quetta LG polls: FCC issues interim stay order

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Constitutional Court (FCC) on Wednesday issued an interim stay order on the forthcoming Local Government (LG) elections in Quetta, pending further review. A three-judge bench, headed by Chief Justice Ameenuddin, comprising Justices Aamir Farooq and Ali Baqar, heard the case. The petitioner, Abdul Qadir, was represented by his counsel Kamran Murtaza. Murtaza argued that the delimitation for the upcoming local government elections in Quetta had been carried out based on the 2017 census. Copyright Business Recorder, 2025
