Police on Thursday announced they arrested nine people from subcontractor Novox on suspicion of using fake certificates for expansion projects at five public hospitals and at another project in To Kwa Wan. The force's superintendent at the Kowloon West regional crime headquarters, Gar Kam-lam, said they made the arrests in Kowloon and the New Territories on December 23 and 24. "[The arrestees were] six men and three women, including three directors of the company and six employees of the company, aged between 23 and 48. All of their charges are the crime of using falsified documents," Gar said. After confirming the certificates' details from four laboratories, police said at least 45 of them – issued for dust, noise, and vibration sensors – were fake. Gar said officers will investigate if fake documents were used in other engineering projects linked to the company. He said they will also probe the possibility of other companies being involved.
