Gov't hikes price ceiling for subsidized housing to attract developers

MANILA, Philippines — For the second time during the Marcos administration, the national government has increased the outdated price ceiling for socialized subdivision and condominium projects to attract more private developers to continue building affordable houses, especially low-income Filipino families. The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) and the Department of Economy, Planning, and Development (DEPDev) issued the Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) of Joint Memorandum Circular (JMC) No. 2025-001, setting the new maximum selling price for socialized housing projects.
