Sausages, stollen and seasonal cheer - German‑style Christmas market brings festive charm to Yokohama

"Christmas cheer filled the air at the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse on Wednesday as the final day of the city's festive Christmas Market drew crowds eager to soak in the holiday spirit. Footage shows a market styled after traditional German Christmas fairs, complete with wooden Hutte stalls imported from Germany and serving seasonal favourites such as sausages, stollen and spiced wine. At the heart of the venue stood a 12-metre-tall Christmas tree. Visitors could browse hand-carved toys, snow globes and other festive finds while strolling under a 30-metre illuminated canopy. Visitors highlighted the importance of peace and spending time with loved ones during the festive season. "If you have people that you love, it's very important right now that you try to hold them very close and spend as much time as possible with them, because this is a very special day but any day could be our last one to spend with those we love," shared Tahj. "There are wars and other conflicts in many parts of the world, but I pray that the whole world will soon be at peace and that everyone all over the world will be able to have a happy Christmas," added Fuji. The Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse Christmas Market is one of Japan's largest and most celebrated holiday events, attracting tens of thousands of visitors annually. The market typically runs from late November through December 25."
