Let it glow! Thailand's dazzling Ban Tha Rae Star Parade lights up Christmas in Sakon Nakhon

"The annual Ban Tha Rae Star Parade Festival, one of Thailand's most unique Christmas celebrations, kicked off in Sakon Nakhon province with dozens of giant illuminated star floats on Thursday. Footage shows the annual Christmas celebration, with dozens of illuminated star-shaped floats driving along streets, and festive celebrations in a historic Catholic village, symbolising the Star of Bethlehem. Festival-goers also flocked to the Christmas market to engage in a variety of fun-packed activities, including touring food stalls and collecting candies from attendees on the floats. "I am very proud of the festival here in Sakon Nakhon because we have such a big Roman Catholic [community], the biggest Roman Catholic [community] around Thailand," noted a local. The village, famous for its French-inspired colonial architecture, was lit up with elaborate displays, turning the event from a religious ceremony into a vibrant celebration of faith and community. "It's great to see a lot of people gathering, dressing up in red costumes in the festive season, so I hope everyone's happy to come here and enjoy the good moment," she added. The festival transforms Ban Tha Rae into a radiant spectacle from December 20 to 26."
