President of the United Arab Emirates His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan arrived on Friday on his first official visiti in Pakistan at the invitation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. He is accompanied by a high-level delegation, including ministers and senior officials. As per the Foreign Office (FO), he will hold a meeting with PM Shehbaz and will review the entire spectrum of bilateral relations and exchange views on regional and international issues of mutual interest. “The visit will provide an important opportunity to further strengthen the longstanding brotherly relations between Pakistan and the UAE,” the FO said. “The visit of His Highness reflects the depth of bilateral relations between the two countries shared commitment of both sides to further enhancing collaboration in key areas, including trade, investment, energy, development and regional stability.” Moreover, the district administration of Islamabad has declared Friday as a “local holiday within the revenue limits of Islamabad“. “All essential services, including hospitals, police, ICT administration, CDA, and utility services, will remain operational,” the Islamabad deputy commissioner announced through a social media post. Similarly, the National Assembly Secretariat also announced a public holiday on Friday, a spokesperson for the National Assembly said. According to the spokesperson, an official office order has been issued declaring a holiday at the National Assembly Secretariat on December 26. As per the order, all activities of the Secretariat will remain suspended today.
