The Meteorological Directorate at the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications has announced that Bahrain is expected to witness cold weather starting Sunday evening, December 28, with the return of northern winds. The conditions are expected to continue until Thursday, January 1, 2026. Winds are forecast to be moderate to strong, with occasional gusts on Tuesday and Wednesday, December 30 and 31. These winds may raise dust in some areas and cause rough sea conditions. Wave heights are expected to range between 1 to 3 feet near the coast and 3 to 6 feet in open waters. Temperatures are expected to drop, with daytime highs between 17–19°C and nighttime lows between 11–13°C. Windy conditions will make it feel even colder, especially at night and early morning. These temperatures are below the usual January averages, which are 21°C for highs and 15°C for lows. The Meteorological Directorate advised the public, particularly those at sea, to exercise caution and follow official weather updates and warnings through various channels.
