Pakistan Naval Academy hosts 124th Midshipmen & 32nd SSC Commissioning Parade

KARACHI: The Pakistan Naval Academy, Karachi, hosted the Commissioning Parade of the 124th Midshipmen and 32nd Short Service Commission (SSC) Course, marking the passing out of 90 Midshipmen and 34 SSC cadets. The ceremony was graced by Rear Admiral Ahmed Mohamed Ebrahim Al Bin Ali, Commander of the Royal Bahrain Naval Force, as the Chief Guest. He was received on arrival by Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Naveed Ashraf. Rear Admiral Al Bin Ali, an alumnus of the Pakistan Naval Academy, expressed pride in reviewing the parade at his alma mater and lauded the Pakistan Navy’s professional competence as a key regional force. He highlighted the Navy’s tradition of training cadets from friendly nations, with participants in the parade from Bahrain, Iraq, Djibouti, Sri Lanka, and Türkiye. He also reaffirmed the enduring bonds and shared values between Pakistan and Bahrain. During the ceremony, awards were presented to top performers. Midshipman Muhammad Uzair Abbas received the Sword of Honour for overall best performance, while Midshipman Shahab Ahmed won the Academy’s Dirk. The Chief of the Naval Staff Gold Medals were awarded to Officer Cadet Umar Mukhtar (Pakistan) and Officer Cadet Aldhahabi Fahad Husam Fareed (Iraq), while Officer Cadet Syed Saad Shahid from the SSC Course received the Commandant Gold Medal. The Proficiency Banner was claimed by the Quarterdeck Squadron.
