Gold, silver set fresh benchmarks

KARACHI: Gold and silver prices further grew to set new benchmarks, as international markets hit fresh highs, traders said. Local gold prices reached new historic heights of Rs475,662 per tola and Rs407,803 per 10 grams, up by Rs2,300 and Rs1,972, respectively, according to All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association. International gold bullion value swelled to new all-time high of USD4,533 per ounce, up by USD23, while silver traded at new historic levels of USD79.32 per ounce, further up by USD5, it cited. Similarly, domestic silver prices hit all-time highs of Rs8,407 per tola and Rs7,207 per 10 grams, up by Rs462 and Rs396, respectively, the association added. It is worth noting that the open market may trade gold and silver at different prices as compared to those officially fixed by the association. Copyright Business Recorder, 2025
