‘World Day for Epidemic Preparedness’: Prevention, control of infectious diseases stressed

LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif says epidemics are not confined to any single region but have the potential to affect the entire world, underscoring the need for constant preparedness to prevent and control infectious diseases. In her message on the ‘World Day for Epidemic Preparedness,’ the chief minister emphasises that timely readiness against epidemics not only saves lives but also protects economies and societies. She notes that the Covid-19 pandemic highlights the importance of sustained commitment and collective efforts to safeguard public health and wellbeing at the global level. Maryam Nawaz Sharif states that the Punjab government is enhancing the capacity of the health sector and that significant work has been carried out to strengthen healthcare services.
