CMIT unearths serious medical other lapses in THQ Hospital

LAHORE: On the directions of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, a late-night inspection of the Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital, Kot Momin, was carried out by the CM Inspection Team along with Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Shoaib Mirza, revealing serious administrative and medical lapses. During the visit, only one medical officer was found present at the hospital, while other doctors were absent, causing distress among patients. The Medical Superintendent (DMS) was also found at home instead of being on duty. When questioned, the duty doctor states that he is travelling from Lahore to Kot Momin. A maternity patient, who undergoes delivery at home, reaches the THQ hospital for medical assistance but has to wait for more than half an hour before receiving care. Copyright Business Recorder, 2025
