PESHAWAR: On the instructions of Regional Police Officer (RPO) Bannu Sajjad Khan, an operation was launched against Fitna al-Khariji in the Takhtikhel area of Lakki Marwat district of Bannu region. Volunteers from Lakki Marwat and Bannu Police, CTD Bannu Region and peace committees actively participated in the operation carried out under the leadership of RPO Bannu Region Sajjad Khan, District Police Officer Lakki Marwat Nazir Khan and SP CTD Fazal Wahid. The operation targeted Fitna al-Khariji formations that were targeting police through shooting and drone attacks. During the operation, several key terrorists of the Fitna al-Khariji were killed and injured, including Commander Nusratullah son of Attaullah, who was wanted in 28 serious terrorism cases and was carrying a head money of Rs. 2.5 million. In addition, more than 4 drones of Fitna al-Khariji were also disabled through anti-drone technology. In continuation of operation, a sanitization operation will be launched in Takhtikhel and its suburbs. A refugees’ camp, which was considered the stronghold of Fitna al-Khariji in the area, was demolished and all the bodies were recovered, while a search operation is also underway in the area and surrounding areas due to the presence of Fitna al-Khariji. Regional Police Officer Bannu Sajjad Khan has said that all the hideouts of foreigners will be eliminated for the sustainable establishment of peace in the area. He said that the final round against the terrorists has begun, which will be brought to a decisive end soon. Meanwhile, the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Zulfiqar Hameed also appreciated the excellent performance of Bannu Region Police and said that the iron-clad personnel of Lakki Marwat and Bannu Police have always played their role in maintaining law and order.
