LRT-2, MRT-3 to offer free rides on Rizal Day

MANILA, Philippines — Commuters can enjoy free rides on two major Metro Manila train lines on Rizal Day, December 30, transport authorities said. In separate advisories issued over the weekend, the Light Rail Transit Authority (LRT-2) and the Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) said they will provide free rides during the morning and evening rush hours. For LRT-2, free rides will be available from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The first train will depart at 5 a.m., while the last trips will leave Antipolo Station at 10 p.m. and Recto Station at 10:30 p.m. MRT-3 will also offer free rides during the same hours, 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., according to the advisory.
