"Residents and visitors in Thailand's capital voiced mixed reactions on Saturday after the country agreed with Cambodia to an 'immediate' ceasefire, ending nearly 20 days of deadly border clashes. Footage captured in Bangkok shows traffic flowing as locals walk around, passing by a shopping mall and convenience stores. While some welcomed the move as a step toward peace, others expressed deep scepticism based on past tensions between the two neighbours. "I'm not sure. Because Cambodia changed all the time. Change their mind all the time,” a local remarked. "I just crossed my fingers that Cambodia should really ceasefire […] not the same as the last time," another added. "I just hope that the ceasefire should be the real ceasefire." Another resident expressed scepticism over the latest ceasefire agreement, saying: 'The Cambodians lie [about] everything.' Meanwhile, some visitors underscored that 'any war' is not good for any country. "War is never a good event, and this (ceasefire) is definitely a first step towards peace," a visitor from Korea remarked. Thailand and Cambodia signed a ceasefire agreement on Saturday, as the delegations met at a border checkpoint in Thailand's Chanthaburi Province. This comes after tensions flared on the Thai-Cambodian border earlier this month. Thailand reported several soldiers and civilians killed during evacuations. Cambodia reported 31 civilian deaths, while Thailand reported 27 deaths directly from combat."
