6 rescued from distressed motor banca in waters off Cebu, Negros

TAGBILARAN CITY, Philippines — Six passengers were safely rescued after their motor banca partially submerged in the waters between Guihulngan City in Negros Oriental and Dumanjug in Cebu on Saturday, Dec. 27, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) reported on Sunday. The PCG said the Coast Guard Station Negros Oriental, in close coordination with cargo vessel LCT Island III, promptly responded to the maritime incident after the distressed vessel was spotted drifting at sea.
