"Senegal and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) drew 1-1 in the second round of Group D matches at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Tangier on Saturday. Footage shows fans of both teams in the stands, waving flags and celebrating, as well as supporters going through security checkpoints. "One point is enough [...] the Africa Cup of Nations is not easy. If you think we will crush our opponents, you are mistaken," Senegal star Sadio Mane remarked after the match. "We defended excellently, then we scored first, and then they came back. They are a good team, and we did not expect an easy match," Congo player Noah Sidikou added. Congo took the lead in the second half through their player Bakambu in the 61st minute. Senegal soon equalized through their star and Al-Nasser player Sadio Mane, finishing the game with 1-1 and leaving both teams close to qualifying for the round of 16. Morocco is hosting the 35th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations, featuring 24 teams, which will run from December 21 to January 18."
