A Syrian security officer was killed by gunfire from armed supporters of the former al-Assad regime on the Syrian coast on Sunday, a security source told Al Arabiya, amid protests by members of the Alawite community following a deadly mosque bombing.Thousands of Alawites demonstrated in coastal and central parts of Syria, two days after a bombing at a mosque in an Alawite area of Homs that killed eight people.
