"A festive light show illuminated the Nikolsky Naval Cathedral on Anchor Square in Kronstadt on Saturday, drawing residents and visitors to the historic port city. Footage shows crowds watching colourful, animated projections light up the cathedral’s facade, while visitors stroll among New Year installations set up around the square. "It's just astonishing. We have already shown the whole of Europe how beautiful we are. We are proud of our city of Kronstadt. It's just incomparable," said local resident Svetlana. Another visitor, Leila, said the display captured the spirit of the season. "The New Year mood rises right then, and there, you are in some fairy tale, in childhood," she said. According to the local administration, a ceremony to switch on the lights of a 15-metre-high New Year tree was also held on the square the same day. The light show on the facade of the Nikolsky Naval Cathedral will run daily from 6:00 pm. to 10:00 pm until January 14, organisers said."
