Holiday road crashes leave 4 dead, 414 injured – DOH

MANILA, Philippines — Four individuals died, and 414 others were injured in road crashes during the holiday season so far, the Department of Health (DOH) reported on Monday. The casualty figures were recorded from December 21 to December 29, 5 a.m., and were collected from 10 sentinel hospitals monitored by the DOH. According to the DOH, 343 of the casualties were caused by failure to use safety accessories such as seat belts and helmets, while 58 were caused by driving under the influence.
