PNP probes missing Leyte priest’s possible depression over 'adopted son'

MANILA, Philippines — Authorities are looking into the possibility that missing Babatngon, Leyte Catholic parish priest Edwin “Kutz” Caintoy may have been depressed over a misunderstanding with his “adopted son,” the Philippine National Police (PNP) said on Monday. Caintoy was last seen at around 9:52 a.m. on Dec. 23, walking from VSYS Department Store toward Robinsons North Tacloban. “They are looking at the angle of the possibility that the priest was depressed over whom he called his adopted son,” PNP public information chief Brig.
