According to the reports, Wang Yi also held a separate meeting with the Cambodian FM Prak Sokhonn on Sunday. On Monday, the ministers also issued a joint press statement, which confirmed their commitment to transform the fragile border truce into 'comprehensive and lasting' peace. "As long as Thailand and Cambodia communicate on an equal footing and move forward together, there will be no insurmountable obstacles," stated Wang Yi, indicating China will support ASEAN’s observation mission monitoring the ceasefire. Wang Yi announced that China is ready to provide $2.8 million in emergency humanitarian aid and also help those displaced by fighting. Thai Minister Sihasak praised China's mediation efforts, describing the ceasefire agreement as a fresh start, affirming his country's commitment to sustainable peace, rebuilding trust with Cambodia, and safeguarding border stability. Wang reportedly said Beijing has been closely following the tense situation on the Cambodia-Thailand border and is committed to facilitating peace through dialogue. He continued by congratulating both sides on reaching the ceasefire. The ceasefire follows meetings in Yunnan on December 28-29 between Cambodian and Thai delegations, at China's invitation."
