In 2025, Azerbaijan’s remittance sector is undergoing a noticeable shift. Historically, the bulk of remittances has originated from post-Soviet countries and Turkiye, with Russia maintaining the largest share. According to the Central Bank, Russia contributed $344 million in the first nine months of 2025, followed by Turkiye with $140 million and the United States with around $74 million. These figures illustrate Azerbaijan’s long-standing reliance on traditional sources.
