MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) on Monday reported a five percent decrease in the number of road crash injuries compared to the holiday season last year. Based on its latest report, a total of 414 road crash injuries were reported since December 21. Of this number, 58 were under the influence of alcohol, 305 were motorcycle accidents resulting in four deaths, and 343 were not wearing helmets and other protective gear. Road crash injuries are among the cases that the DOH monitors this holiday season, along with firework-related injuries, non-communicable diseases, and mental health cases.
