MANILA, Philippines — Nueva Ecija 1st District Rep. Mikaela Angela Suansing, chairman of the House Committee on Appropriations, denied the claim of Batangas 1st District Rep. Leandro Legarda Leviste that lawmakers at the House of Representatives were given a Christmas bonus of P2 million. "I vehemently deny that. I don't want to speak ill of anyone, especially my colleagues in the House, but there is no truth to that," Suansing said in an interview with reporters. In a television interview, Leviste said that each House member was given a bonus of P2 million. "The bonus being given, and also I heard from my other colleagues, this month, is P2 million per congressman," he said.
