The first American liquefied natural gas (LNG) shipment for the Bulgarian market by Metlen arrived at the Alexandroupolis FSRU, the company said on Monday, calling it a landmark event. In a statement, the company said, "As the largest private consumer and natural gas trader in the region and one fo the largest importers of natural gas and LNG in Greece, Metlen guarantees critical supply chains throughout the Balkans, from Bulgaria and Romania to the neighboring markets." The statement added that this first delivery confirms the company's role as a key pillar of energy security in Southeast Europe, while the company's cooperation with Bulgaria's Bulgargaz comprises one of the most stable and long-term cross-border energy cooperations in the area.
