The Special Environmental Studies of the Ionian National Marine Park and the South Aegean National Marine Park 1 - South Cyclades were approved on Monday, following the integration of results from the public consultation on the studies. The institutionalization of the two marine parks will be completed with the submission of the corresponding draft Presidential Decrees to the Council of State. According to the Ministry of Environment, the protection of over 35% of Greece's territorial waters is achieved, exceeding the European commitment to protect at least 30% of our territorial waters by 2030.
