Progress made on all key documents linked to Ukraine peace deal: Stubb

President Alexander Stubb on Monday said that progress was made on all of the key documents related to the peace deal at the meeting between US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held in Florida on Sunday. The President made the remarks on his social media platform X after holding a telephone conversation with Zelenskyy. “Call with President Zelenskyy today confirmed that progress was made on all of the key documents related to the peace deal, including prosperity and security,” Stubb wrote. He wrote that they focused on the outcome of Sunday´s meeting between the Presidents of US and Ukraine. Stubb also made a follow-up call with European leaders. “Work will continue on all levels between Ukraine, the US, Europe and other allies. Momentum is always important in peace mediation,” he added. Zelenskyy also wrote on his X about the telephone conversation with Stubb. “I spoke with President of Finland Alexander Stubb. As always with Alex, we discussed the diplomatic situation, our opportunities and prospects, and the outcomes of the meetings with President Trump and his team,” wrote the Ukrainian President. U.S. President Donald Trump said Sunday that he thinks "we're getting a lot closer, maybe very close" to a peace deal to end the Ukraine crisis after his meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Florida, reported Xinhua. The two presidents spoke with European leaders, including leaders of NATO and the European Union, during the course of their meeting. Trump said that about 95 percent of the terms of the peace plan have been agreed upon by parties involved, though "one or two very thorny issues" still remain.
