India is rapidly emerging as a global leader in artificial intelligence, ranking third worldwide in the Stanford AI Vibrancy Index and first in AI talent and human resources. Speaking on the scale and ambition of the upcoming global AI summit, S Krishnan, Secretary at the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, highlighted India’s growing role in democratising and decentralising AI. With invitations sent to nearly 140 countries and confirmations from over 100 nations, the event is set to bring together more than 100 global AI leaders, including CXOs, academics and policymakers. Over 310 pre-events have already been held worldwide, with nearly 800 additional events planned alongside the main summit. The gathering is expected to deliver over 15 tangible outcomes and attract close to 150,000 participants, marking a defining moment in India’s AI journey.
