The City of Cape Town has been ordered to urgently identify a suitable alternative venue for the Cape Town Minstrel Carnival Association after withdrawing approval for the use of Vygieskraal Stadium just days before the association’s January 2026 Minstrel Competition, placing a centuries-old cultural tradition in jeopardy.
