Teachers gather in Accra for GNAT conference on education reforms

The Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) will officially open its 7th Quadrennial National Delegates Conference on Monday, January 5, 2026, in Accra, with President John Dramani Mahama expected to perform the opening ceremony. The conference, which is also GNAT’s 54th National Delegates Conference, is being held under the theme “Education and Development: The GES @ 50 – Reflecting, Reviewing, Revising and Growing the Profession and the Unions.” It brings together teacher representatives from across the country to deliberate on the future of education and unionism in Ghana.
