Running for aid - Thousands take part in the 10th Zayed Charity Marathon in Giza

"Thousands of enthusiasts took part in the 10th Zayed Charity Run, which concluded its events on Friday in Sheikh Zayed City, Giza Governorate. Footage shows people of all ages and backgrounds participating in the race, creating an atmosphere of joy and enthusiasm. Fatma Ahmed, a runner, expressed her happiness in taking part, saying, "It is a very beautiful participation, and as every year, it is even better than the year before. It is a special experience marked by cooperation, running together, and a strong sense of community." She went on to mention that it is 'truly a wonderful experience' for people to take part every year in a recreational activity that also allows them to practise sport. Meanwhile, runner Ahmed Mustafa, who finished in fourth place, praised the UAE for hosting the event, saying, "I would like to thank our beloved United Arab Emirates for this humanitarian support." Emirati media reported that the race, held under the slogan 'Running for Aid', witnessed 'unprecedented public turnout, with a record participation of 60,000 runners from various categories'. The race featured multiple routes and categories, designed for both able-bodied participants and people with special needs. The organising committee offered cash prizes totalling 20 million Egyptian pounds (420,000 USD; 357,000 EUR), benefitting 10,000 winners."
