Pasig City imposes ₱5,000 fine for unauthorized firecracker use

THE Pasig City government said on Tuesday that it would impose a P5,000 fine on residents using firecrackers outside designated zones. Mayor Vico Sotto earlier said no special permits were issued to sell fireworks in the city this year. The designated firecracker and fireworks zones across villages are: – Bagong Ilog: Open space in front of Barangay Hall, Sgt. Pascua Street; Salonga Basketball Court – Bagong Katipunan: A. Bonifacio Street – Buting: E. Mendoza Street; Ilaya Linear Park; Manggahan Linear Park; San Guillermo Avenue – Caniogan, Kalawaan, Kapitolyo, San Antonio — No designated zones – Dela Paz: Octagon Village Phase 3 Parking Lot – Kapasigan: Boulevard Riverside – Malinao: G. Raymundo Street (back of Pasig Catholic Cemetery) – Manggahan: Karangalan Village along Kaginhawaan Street; Manggahan Proper Eastbank Road – Maybunga: Sandoval Bridge (fireworks display only); Stella Maris Small Park (fireworks display only) – Oranbo: Oranbo Drive – Palatiw: Isaac Licsi Covered Court; Palatiw Urban Garden Open Space – Pinagbuhatan: Open space at back of Barangay Hall (fireworks display only); Open space near Bahay Aruga (fireworks display only) – Pineda: Purok 3 Plaza – Rosario: Rosario Boulevard (fireworks display only); Westbank (fireworks display only) – Sagad: C. Santos Avenue. – Ugong: Purok 4 Parking Area Authorities also reminded the public that banned firecrackers include atomic bomb, king kong, five star (big), large Judas’ belts, piccolo and any device with more than 0.2 grams of explosive content.
