"Around 100 people were evacuated from Italy's Monte Moro ski resort on Tuesday after a cable car crash left six people injured, including one child. Footage shows rescue teams using helicopters to safely evacuate stranded tourists and skiers during an operation that lasted between four to five hours. According to local media, the accident occurred in the morning when a cable car cabin failed to brake as it approached the upper station, striking the protective barrier due to a 'technical error'. The impact brought the entire lift system to a halt, leaving around 100 people stranded at the lower station and on the mountain at an altitude of approximately 2,800 metres. The ski slopes were immediately closed following the incident as local authorities launched a full investigation into the cause of the crash. The Monte Moro cable car, which was originally built in 1962, had undergone a major two million euro renovation just two years ago."
