The Municipality of Athens is on alert due to the low temperatures expected over the next 24 hours. From Tuesday at 8:00 pm until further notice, emergency measures are being implemented to protect vulnerable citizens. The Agios Eleftherios Friendship Club (372 Acharnon Street, tel. 210 2012334) will be open as a heated space, providing safe accommodation, food, and basic care services. The Municipality's Street Work teams will be operating 24 hours a day throughout the city, distributing hot drinks, snacks, clothing, and blankets. At the same time, information and assistance will be provided to individuals who have difficulty accessing the dormitory of the Multifunctional Center for the Homeless, which operates continuously and offers accommodation, food, and services to meet their needs. The call centre at 210 5246515/6 (ext. 0) will operate on a 24-hour basis. In addition, citizens may report locations where homeless individuals in need of assistance are found by emailing kyadastreetwork@athens.gr.
