ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly Standing Committee on Human Rights on Tuesday expressed grave concern over the frequent usage of drugs in the country, and decided to summon Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi for a briefing on the matter in the next meeting. Nousheen Iftikhar presided over the NA panel’s meeting. The committee unanimously recommended that the Islamabad Capital Territory Senior Citizens (Amendment) Bill, 2025, be passed by the National Assembly. The committee also recommended that the Human Rights Ministry expedite the process of establishing the National Commission for Minorities’ Rights to ensure that the problems faced by the minorities are duly addressed.
