ISLAMABAD: Audit officials informed the sub-committee of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) on Tues-day that the management of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) procured “illegal” thermal scanners. PAC Convener Syed Naveed Qamar convened a meeting of the sub-committee, which conducted a detailed review of audit objections concerning the NDMA spanning from the fiscal years 2011-12 to 2023-24. The audit objection regarding the alleged irregular procurement of thermal scanners was brought under discussion, prompting the committee to direct a formal inquiry into the matter.
