LEGAZPI CITY— Over P104,000 worth of illegal firecrackers and pyrotechnic devices confiscated across the Bicol region were destroyed on Wednesday in a joint operation by the Philippine National Police, the Department of Health, and the Bureau of Fire Protection. Maria Luisa Calubaquib, spokesperson of the Police Regional Office–Bicol, said improvised cannons locally known as “boga” were crushed using heavy equipment, while other prohibited firecrackers were soaked in water drums at Camp General Simeon Ola in this city.
