Contrary to expectations in New Delhi, President Donald Trump has plunged the India-US relationship to its lowest point since the end of the Cold War in his second term. As the only saving grace, the defence and security partnership has shown a semblance of continuity, leaving open a possibility —as of now— for a future president to mend ties by restoring trust.
