A FILIPINO woman wanted for kidnapping was arrested at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) upon landing from Singapore on Tuesday, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said. The arrest was the result of close coordination between the PNP Aviation Security Group, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), Imus Police, and the Bureau of Immigration. The warrant of arrest was issued by a family court in Cavite. The woman is facing charges of kidnapping and failure to return a minor, with the court explicitly recommending no bail. She is now under the custody of the CIDG Manila District Field Unit for documentation and further legal disposition. Acting PNP chief LtGen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said the arrest reflects the police’s commitment to resolving cases regardless of time or location. “This shows that accountability does not stop at our borders. If there is a lawful warrant, we will enforce it, calmly and properly. Airports are gateways, not escape routes,” Nartatez said. “A minor is involved; that is why we treated the case very seriously. We will make sure this case reaches the court, and the guilty are held accountable.” He added that coordination among police units and partner agencies was key to the operation’s success. “When our units talk to each other and move as one, results follow. This is how policing should work — quietly, efficiently, and within the bounds of the law,” Nartatez said.
