Northeast monsoon to bring light rains, cloudy skies

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Thursday that the northeast monsoon is affecting Northern and Central Luzon, while the easterlies are influencing the rest of the country. MIMAROPA, Bicol Region, Western Visayas, and Quezon Province will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms due to a shear line, with possible flash floods or landslides from moderate to heavy rains. Mindanao and the rest of Visayas are expected to have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms caused by the easterlies, which may trigger localized flooding or landslides during severe weather conditions. Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains brought by the Northeast Monsoon, Pagasa said in its 4 a.m. bulletin.
