LAHORE: The Office of the Ombudsman Punjab has successfully resolved a pending payment dispute, ensuring the release of Rs322 million to a private pharmaceutical company following a formal complaint. According to details, a citizen approached the Ombudsman Punjab stating that his company had supplied medicines worth Rs322 million to Mayo Hospital Lahore during the fiscal year 2022–23 against a duly issued government purchase order. Despite the timely delivery of medicines and completion of all required official documentation, the company did not receive payment, causing serious disruption to its business operations. Taking notice of the complaint, the Ombudsman Punjab sought a detailed report from the relevant authorities and examined the reasons behind the delay. The department concerned was directed to promptly verify records and ensure the release of dues.As a result of the Ombudsman’s directives and sustained follow-up, the matter was resolved through a transparent process, and the hospital authorities released the full payment of Rs322 million to the complainant’s company. The complainant thanked the Office of the Ombudsman Punjab for its timely and effective intervention, stating that the prompt action helped safeguard business interests and restore confidence in public institutions.
