CEBU CITY, Philippines — Firework-related injuries recorded during the 2026 New Year’s Day celebrations were lower compared to last year’s. Based on consolidated data from 62 sentinel hospitals nationwide, the Department of Health (DOH) recorded a total of 235 firework-related injury cases from December 21, 2025, until 4 a.m. on January 1, 2026.
