"The displaced people of Karam al-Zaytoun camp in the Aleppo countryside continued to battle the harsh winter on New Year's Eve, shovelling snow outside their tents and trying to keep warm. "Some people have nothing at all. Some are using plastic sheets or cardboard - may God help them. Living in a tent while it’s snowing, very dire situation," said one resident Ali Al-Ali. Osama Al-Ali, another resident added: "There is no heating, the basic necessities of life are very hard to obtain, and there is almost no food aid — reduced by about 90%.” Dozens of families live in the camp, in the Azaz area of rural Aleppo, after seeing their homes destroyed in the civil war."
