The first day of 2026 is cloudy and although the day started off dry in most areas, a front bring rain in the west and sleet in central and southern areas began crossing the country from around midday. From Thursday evening a Code Yellow warning for slippery conditions will apply to Brussels, Flemish and Walloon Brabant, Limburg Province and Hainaut.
