LAHORE: The Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO), in coordination with police and Rangers, intensified its crackdown against electricity theft during December 2025, recovering more than Rs15.85 million from power thieves. According to the LESCO, a total of 2,228 complaints of electricity theft were received between December 1 and December 31, 2025, including 2,224 domestic and four agricultural cases. During the same period, 2,188 FIRs were recommended, out of which 1,161 FIRs were registered, leading to the arrest of 47 individuals. The LESCO officials reported that over 2.46 million units of electricity theft were detected during the month under review. Copyright Business Recorder, 2026
