CITY OF CALAPAN — Around 100 hawksbill sea turtle hatchlings emerged from their nest at the Sea Turtle Hatchery in Barangay Navotas here on Thursday afternoon, according to reports from Bantay Dagat personnel to the city’s Fishery Management Office. In a phone interview Thursday evening, Roberto Alfante, a member of the bantay dagat (sea patrol) who posted a video on the pawikans, said the hatchlings came from 187 eggs that were earlier transferred to the hatchery on November 6  last year in Sitio Proper.   “We were expecting the hatching today or tomorrow,” he said.
