KIDAPAWAN CITY, Cotabato—One of the two suspects who tossed a fragmentation grenade that blasted on New Year’s Day revelers in Matalam town, Cotabato province, was killed in a police operation on Thursday evening. Lt. Col. Arniel Melocotones, Matalam police chief, said Hammad Ansa, 40, resisted arrest by firing shots at police officers who pursued him in Barangay Kilada of Matalam town.
