Ahead of Jalna's civic elections, Mahayuti allies BJP, Shiv Sena, and NCP are fielding a significant number of Muslim candidates, a shift attributed partly to former Congress MLA Kailash Gorantyal joining the BJP. The opposition Mahavikas Aghadi also includes Muslim candidates, while AIMIM aims to capitalize on Muslim voter aspirations with its own slate.
