A Bangladeshi businessman, Khokon Chandra Das, was brutally attacked, hacked, and set ablaze by unidentified assailants in Damudya, Shariatpur. The 50-year-old, who runs a medicine and mobile banking business, was returning home when intercepted. He managed to escape by jumping into a pond. Two locals have been named in the case as police hunt for the perpetrators.
